What was the funding used for ?

Studio 8 is the only youth-run performing arts studio in Jordan. In 2015, Studio 8 faced its biggest challenge to date when it was evicted from its creative space. The Tamteen Fund contributed in renovating a new space (install flooring, mirrors, and to make the necessary works) in order for the artists and dancers to pursue their teaching and creative activities.

How did this funding contribution provide sustainability to your organisation and improve the quality of the implementation of your work ?

Studio 8 is the only youth-run performing arts studio in Jordan. The Studio 8 artists conduct public workshops, classes, and performances in order to use the arts to bring people from diverse backgrounds together. Tamteen Fund was essential as without a space all these activities cannot take place. Thanks to this support, Studio 8 was able to sustain its existence and pursue its commitment in using the performing arts to encourage open-mindedness and tolerance in Jordan, and to using dance to facilitate social change.
