What was the funding used for ?

Medrar sets the stage for artists seeking to have extensive collaborations with their peers for the purpose of contemporary art movements. This non-profit collective, running since 2005 used the funding to improve the venue in Cairo to allow for better working conditions for the artists and a better exhibition space. The funding was hence used for installing new air-conditioning, refurbish floors and doors and running costs.

How did this funding contribution provide sustainability to your organisation and improve the quality of the implementation of your work ?

Thanks to Tamteen contribution, the place became a full equipped space which enables us today to started giving the opportunity to artists and new starter projects related to the Contemporary art scene to benefit from it and its equipment thus helping the organization meet its objectives that consists of hosting festivals, workshops and events to stimulate the scene; providing a collaborative space for media artists; documenting and disseminating audio-visual content on the contemporary art movement in Egypt.
