How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?
The grant made the travels of the two performers of this performance possible.
Being in Palestine and experiencing the circumstances in schools and cultural venues made a great impact on us.
The connection between the socio-political context of the work of art are important to us in our daily work, but we our interactions with local artists opened new dimension in this field and raised our awareness to many issues.
Bethlehem is also a fantastic example of Christians and Muslims living and working together in harmony, this was also an important experience in the current European discourse which is often built upon hate-mongering.
How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?
The social situation seen in Bethlehem, Palestine will surely influence us in our future work. We will be actively looking for further possibilities to collaborate and create projects where we can work together with the international and specially Palestinian partners met in Bethlehem.
Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?
We have learned about how we can adapt our work and make it accessible in a different cultural context. As a part of this we also learnt about what are those elements in our work (in the way we perform and the story as well) that are universal and culturally connecting people from different contexts.
