How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?

This grant made it possible for the continuation of an idea that was born in 2015 and has been worked on actively since then. As an artist, it is difficult to secure all expenses when on the road 50% of the time. To acquire credibility, visibility and exposure on national and international levels, travelling is a must and institutions which believe in what you do is what an artist really needs to have for sustainability and this is what RFC has proved to be throughout the years. The far east proved to be not so far once visited, the two culture (middle and far east) are not necessarily over acquainted although unlike the general impression there are so many commonalities in traditions and customs. Taiwanese were always very curious to learn about my background and how I go about in every single detail of my life as much as I was towards their culture and lives.

How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?

It definitely sheds the light on any artistic work and gives it credibility for more people to not only know about it but consider future collaborations which strengthen artistic presentations locally and internationally.

Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?

I learned that borders are meaningless, again! Travelling solves all problems and teaches you how precious it is to be checked on by a neighbour when you are sick and helpless, although we don't have any common language to exchange our thoughts without the aid of technology (if patience allows), love, care and warmth don't need a translator. Mothers or females in Taiwan play almost identical roles as females and mothers in Jordan when it comes to parenting or even expected gender roles. I relate to and understand many resemblances between my culture and the Taiwanese culture regarding conservatism for instance. I appreciate the culture of listening and patience in Taiwan in which they show their respect and pride to their identity, first class consumers of art and culture and they have infinite curiosity to learn anew.
