How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?
The purpose of the journey by Giusy Checola, Diego Segatto and Susanna Ravelli, members of the independent organization Archiviazioni, was the creation of partnerships for the realization of future projects connecting Puglia, Southern Italy and Mediterranean cultural basin. Another aim was to promote and enrich Archivica, the first archive for art and public sphere in Southern Italy, which is part of Archiviazioni's activities, as well as residences, workshops and experimental frames of interaction and narration, like temporary editorial units. During this first journey they spent a longer time in Palestine to develop a partnership with Campus in Camps programme (www.campusincamps.ps) where Archiviazioni is going to realize projects based on the generative character of its mobile archive and the modality of the editorial unit, meant both as a common learning educational experience, as an exchange future opportunity between artistic and interdisciplinary experiences from Puglia and the initiatives in progress at Dheisheh Refugee Camp (Bethlehem, Palestine).
How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?
Giusy, Diego and Susanna developed a first core research on the methodology adopted by Campus in Camps thanks to Cimetta fund, which will be published on A-Journal, the first essay devoted to the relationship between art and public sphere in Southern contexts as outcome of Diaphasis, first temporary editorial unit staged by Archiviazioni at Corniolo Art Platform on July 2012 : the goal was to build a network of people and organizations involved on arts in such a framework.
Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?
A-Journal will be published online by April 2013 and collects contributions, as texts and images, from artists, curators, cultural operators and theorists working on the above mentioned issues, and others from the region that hosted Diaphasis, Tuscany.
