How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?

It was a great opportunity for us as a new film platform to be exposed in such a big event dedicated to documentary film and film industry professional from the region, it was a chance for us to connect to other platform from Europe and the arab world, and build our network. we are also looking for film experts and consultants who will be interested to join our initiative. as the situation of the film industry in Algeria is very weak, and beside our work as a film festival, we want to develop the film industry in the country with our Platform : Bejaia Film Lab. attending the convention and all the related events was very benificial for me as a film platform manager, in order to exchange my experience and connect wth potential parnters. finally, the international contexte of the event is very important to promot our platform. participating in the "ethics of coproduction between europe and the arab world" working groupe was very beneficial and important to shape a roadmap for a north-south coproduction along with my colleagues from Europe and the arab region.

How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?

For a film platform like ours, coming from the civil society with limited resources., being exposed in such an international event is vital for building our international network, help find funding and connect with other platforms in order to exchange and develop our work.

Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?

"Bejaia film Lab" is the first film event dedicated to professionals in Algeria, it's a huge step into the professionalization of the film industry in Algeria. beside our film festival, our platform is actively contributing to the development of films in the region by offering residencies, funding and learning opportunities. since 2015, 2 participating projects from the previous editions were made and 2 others are in post production. with 2 other initiatives from the Maghreb : JCC ( Carthage pro) and Fidadoc ( Morroco) we are working on a regional south-south paltform project to connect the 3 countries.
