How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?

The project I have realized was due to an invitation from a colleague of mine, whom I know for more than ten years. I have made illustration for his book project upon hours of deep discussions and mutual agreements. Mostly through these discussions, but also through the exhibitions I visited, the people I met, the sources of information I researched, the things I experienced, I certainly gained new ways of thinking and developed a broader spectrum. I spent most of my time at the Akademie Schloss Solitude and met numerous artists, architects, designers with whom I hope to develop further projects.

How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?

I am certain that exchange, networking and international contacts are not only vital elements, but also grand tool to reach further states in an artist’s career.

Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?

Of course, because this was my first long term stay abroad. Also, being able to work with my colleague in such a close contact was very helpful for our artistic collaboration, which will possibly lead to further projects. Furthermore, the daily communication and exchange with other international fellows at the Akademie Schloss Solitude was very fruitful in terms of learning and understanding different cultures.
