How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?
During the period I was in Marseille, I participated in a workshop with artists from Mediterranean countries, Meetic.med. It was a "meeting residency" built on my project "Maybe" that les Bancs Publics offered me to develop with the help of the French choreographer Mickael Cros. It was a very good experience for me to have the opportunity to work for 10 days on my own solo performance with a mentor. I enjoyed to work with him and I think that I reached a very interesting point in my project. I had the chance to show it in front of an audience, which reacted in a very positive way. During this period, I also had the pleasure to collaborate with Aurelien Arnoux, French musician and Mohamed Shafik, Egyptian choreographer. This project gave me the possibility to take part in their artistic dance project and I'm very glad about it because in Egypte we never had the possibility to work together with Mohamed Shafik. The workshop was part of a festival called Les Rencontres à l'Echelle, where i had the opportunity to attend performances, and meet professional from my field (KLAP, Marseille Provence 2013).
How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?
It is very important. Specially for young artists from coutries of the South, like Egypt, where cultural and artistic life isn't very developped.
Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?
I experienced a new country (France) which was a new intercultural artistic experience. I learned new artistics techniques that I cannot learn in my country, and gained a strong energy and experience from the meeting with all the others artists.
