Lane is a project which embodies my personal concept towards our inability to trespass boundaries and to travel regardless the causes behind that. Lane is an imaginative path that helps me and others to pass through. This experience is an opportunity to dream and create a new visual novel based on a real experience which many others and I passed through and which will be translated into a written image by the writer “Hani Albiari”. In addition, the experience is based on a historical aspect beginning from Gaza, the passage and movement area, to this date which it seems motionless and still. This dramatically impacts the Gazans who have lost their opportunities to travel, work, take a treatment and gather as families. Lane will review intimate stories such as love ones: how they failed or succeeded when the borders have become the focal point of every story? This work also reviews “Exit”; the exit to the world without the intention to escape away. Thus, it historizes for a third aspect related to the neglected humanity which politics turns a blind eye on. In addition, the work also historizes the need of the “neglected humanity” for the light passage window and its successful and unsuccessful attempts in looking for this window. In a way, the work hostorizes for itself as a controversy attempt. Will this work? Is it possible for the visual hypotheses to transfer to a positive real action trespassing the boundaries such as the boundaries of the language limitation and expression? The work stages directly move to the “interviews” in order to look for the visual equal for the real meaning producing a text, painting or other visual outputs, keeping sound records, photos, and video shots to produce the work.
