How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?

I participated in the residence program at Listhus Organization in a small town called Sigulsfjordur on north of Iceland. As a Landart artist the main focus of my project was presenting environmental issues and connections that we as humans share with environment. During my stay, I produced series of photography called Water traces. It was presented on Open house day in community and students from local college visited it. Since I practice my art outdoor, I also traveled around Iceland to do new shoots for my series and on my way I establish contacts with several artists and art organizations on Iceland. With them I started conversation about possibility for collaboration in future since I'm member of International platform for art development called Zebra (http://www.zebra.com.hr/en) that runs gallery in the center of Zagreb called Greta (http://greta.hr/en/). With new friend that I've met I talk about possibility of exhibitions exchange and even art residencies programs in Zagreb and vice verse.

How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?

Art scene in Croatia is small and is centered in Zagreb so exchange, networking and international contacts are more then vital for my development to spread views on contemporary issues that are currently marking art scene world wide, especially that Landart in Croatia is barely existing and its sporadic compares to other field of art that are dominating Croatian art space.

Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?

I am a Landart artists so visiting Iceland was more then just regular journey. Not only have I produced series of photography but I got so much inspiration that I will probably go again. Also, it was more then surprising to get to know Icelandic people. The contact and building new friendships was so easy, I just couldn't believe it. The approach of Icelandic people stroked me. Even among the very well know artists or directors of institutions such the Reykjavik Art Museum there ware this open attitude towards new people. I approach them very directly with just a wish to meet, and then they just invite me to their home on lunch, which is unthinkable to happen in my country.
