How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?

My usual international work centers round saxophone workshops. This project, on the other hand, was a masterclass and workshop focusing on chamber music for wind instruments. This gave me the necessary space for me to think about and develop material and a point of view on the subject, which will be useful in my routine teaching duties. It also gave me an insight on a different culture and points of view which definitely enriched my knowledge base both as an artist as well as a pedagogue.

How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?

The event was also an opportunity to make new contacts and strengthen older ones. The main contact that was enforced during this event was the organizer herself, Christine Dimech, who was fundamental for the logistical aspect of the whole thing. I had also the opportunity to meet upcoming artists who were directly involved in the workshops. Amongst them were established Maltese musicians.

Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?

Mobility gives an opportunity for widening points of view. Being a country with such unique characteristics, this reflects in the way the people do and interpret things. It was interesting to note the way of teaching and the different interpretations to the works performed.
