How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?
The investigation were conducted at first in institutions dedicated to teach the Swedish language , and to facilite the administrative procedures for the refugees. Then I head for places of encounter and other peripherals spaces to the political asylum. I derift towards uncertain places where I experienced myself the encounter with individuals and different cultures. I privileged the fortuitous meeting and the interest and curiosity that could have my interlocutors to unveil as "pure individuals". We imagined together that each person lives his body as a territory. This territory is equivalent to a point of view, and at the same time is a superposition of memories related to his experience of world.
How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?
Migrants and the original inhabitants of Åmål are in process of making the history of this place, they contribute by their personal stories, memories, and exchanges that they have with each others. We tried with the participants to create a “territory”, basing on archive images of the city of Åmål and Frengerfors. We consider telling stories as something that emanates from the body and different life situations. We experienced the collective creation of an ephemeral time, through shadows forms on archive images.
