How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?

This grant enables me to start my research on creating a full length work on ZfinMalta Dance Ensemble, Malta's national dance company. Although this is not the first time working with this company, it is my first time working with the whole ensemble which enabled me to get exchange some artistic experience with 8 creative dancers with different cultural backgrounds.

How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?

Exchange with different cultures and different mentalities is essential for the development of my work. Especially in the global world that we are living today. With regards to Malta, having only established a contemporary dance company 3 years ago, the island still lacks some professionalism in terms of specific artistic job skills. Therefore, this project allows a network of contacts between what the island currently offers and my network - a network of which does not only include dance but also other collaborators such as costume designs and dramaturgy.

Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?

The work with ZfinMalta gave the possibility of growing as an artist in many ways. This activity gave me the opportunity of creating with the dancers in a creative environment. The company gave all the professional facilities to be able to work to the high standard.
