How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?
In the Women Economic Forum, there were more than 2000 delegates coming from all parts of the globe and from all possible disciplines. The network opportunities were immense. Post the WEF I have been able to connect to many delegates and stay with them in touch. We Skype and email on a regular basis to test the waters for possible collaboration. Further on, I have now an opportunity to find international stakeholders to build up my Nomad's Home Foundation. Finally, I am positive that I will find the right mentoring for my project. I received the Iconic Women Creating A Better World For All Award. This recognition and the press release has directed the attention to my work locally and internationally. http://fletcher.tufts.edu/Alumni/Fletcher-News-Flash/2017/05/16/Iman-Kamel http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/5/32/268815/Arts--Culture/Film/Egyptian-director-Iman-Kamel-wins-Iconic-Women-Awa.aspx Further on, I benefited from many presentations and plenary sessions during the conference about women's global leadership. And got some precious advise of how to implement my vision of the artist as a global player.
How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?
Building up the foundation is depending on the right partners and stakeholders. To be part of the powerful Women Economic Forum and All Ladies League global Network is lending me a great platform for exchange, networking, and international collaboration.
Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?
1. It is crucial for any project founder to take an active part in international festivals, Forums, and Workshops. 2. It is important to communicate the far outreach of your vision, the dream so to speak as well as the practical steps that can be taken towards your business and action plan. 3. It is essential to be open to communicate to everybody your vision. One can be surprised that support and collaboration can be achieved with unexpected potential partners. 5. It is important to come back and share your powerful experience with your community. As I was empowered, I was able to empower fellow women entrepreneurs to take part in the next edition of WEF and all other conference opportunities 6. Speak and communicate whenever and wherever you go about your vision, about your project. 7. Listen to every other delegate in a conference you have the chance to encounter. You will be surprised which possibilities lie in potential collaboration.
