How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?

Artistic exchange of skills with local and international artists was at the heart of the Theatricultural exchange in Tehran. Six national and another six international artists from various disciplines were invited to spend seven days in Teheran and share their practice. Apart from working as a temporary collective for this given period, going to see various performances and discussing them afterwards was part of the program. In that sense I could use this grant for sharing Archipelago series, a work in collaboration with Tora Hed, that investigates the topic of time and particularly movement timing. More specifically, our focus gets rooted in the analysis of rhythmic islands and its physical need for recognition through the gravitational account existing among single beats and single sounds. At its core we investigate how the external and inner expression becomes tangible/readable through the body. We wonder how bodies can agree and meet up in a complex and multi-layered rhythmic space as the one we live or perform in.

How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?

Exchange of skills, knowledge and strategies are essential for working on my own projects as to keep a sense of what is possible. I believe that platforms like this one in Teheran are extremely important because they provide a ground for meeting and working intensively together. For me it is a place to practice re-valuing, re-thinking and re-looking.
