How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?

We build partnerships with international publishers so we can extend our business with them. This is why we need to take part in international events like Womex, in Poland, which is one of the biggest music market.

How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?

By attending music expos we get to meet new people in the industry and make deals with international companies which helps our artists in spreading their work. We make deals with international licensors and/or publishers. Until now our market is open in United States, Switzerland, and Turkey. After this trip to Katowice and attending Womex I started talking to new companies from different regions, including Chili, Poland, Hong Kong, German and France. International cinema is a big part of our target market because filmmakers rarely find quality original Arabic music of various Arabic sub-genres, and this is why Awyav is an important resource around the world.

Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?

By attending the market, doing meetings and attending conferences, talks, and speed meetings, we got to learn from other people's experiences, which gives us the ability to spread awareness in our region about music rights amongst filmmakers, content makers, and musicians themselves. We also learned new ways to work on creating a higher revenue for independent composers and writers, enabling them to live off their art, and to sustain it.
