How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?

My research trip to Malta during November and December 2017 was very interesting. I had the chance to visit different locations, cities and the amazing archeological sites of the island. I also had the opportunity to have a look at the local artistic scene of Malta and to meet some Maltese artists. The period I spent there it was very crucial for my participation to the forthcoming project that it will take place next autumn. It was a great time for me to see another Mediterranean country and to understand the identity of the place. Coming from Greece this trip gave me a reflecting tool to look at my origin, history and the contemporary identity of the country I am coming from.

How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?

I can't imagine the realisation of my project without my trip to Malta. My period there was very important for understanding the place and to look closer to its history and identity.I really enjoyed working with a group fo people from different countries and with different backgrounds and stories. It is always the best way to reflect your self and your practice.

Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?

The archaeological layer of Malta is extremely interesting and unique. I was amazed by the archaeological locations and I met the genius loci. Being on the island for one month I had the chance to explore the landscape and study the interesting archaeological findings.
