How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?

The grant contributed to the future planning of the project mapping and scanning future possibilities for collaboration. Our long-term plan is to preserve the cultural musical heritage of the region which has not been done so far in good quality. The final outcome of the long-term project is to have an open source archive of Levant music and to start a dialogue between the two cultures which has not really been connected so far. We believe that music is a great tool to start such a thing.

How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?

My stay in Lebanon broadened the possibilities for the contiuation of the project. I got to know the key persons who are working with musical archieving in Lebanon and also different NGOs who are working with the local communities which makes the perfect combination for our project.

Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?

This experience like any other networking opportunity is a crutial part of each international project built on collaboration and international dialogue. My visit allowed me to see the music of the Levant in a broader perspectieve and to meet the key personnel that will be involved in the continuation of the project.
