How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?
Our ambitious project is putting together two different cultural realities producing a short film titled “Psychiken”directed by Ata Mojabi.
Thanks to Roberto Cimetta grant I had the opportunity to take part at the 35th Teheran Internation short film Festival where, with the director of my project, I could partecipate at the pitching session, where we presented our project to a professional jury and to potential investor.
With "Psychicken" we won one of the three prizes and this give to us even more faith to continue working on our short film production.
So, the project became also an opportunity to exchange know-how and methodologies about culture and film production from a country to another.
The join between me and the Iranian director Ata Mojabi is the trigger for the connection between this two countries and, thanks to this grant during my staying in Teheran, we could also make location scouting and meet local crew members.
Infact, another big challenge of "psychicken" is to bring together professionals from both countries, mixing Italian and Iranian Heads of Departments, as crew members.
How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?
"Psychiken" is a multicultural project and networking is essencial to put together the right people that can bring into this work those energies we really need.
Thanks to this exchange we could meet potential investors, co-producers, interested distributors and sales agents, partners and also just other iranian professional who could appreciate our work and, congratulating with us, giving all their moral support.
Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?
I am very glad to had the chance to pitch in front an audience for the second time in my life. And this was even more challenging because it was not in my mother tongue.
This experience was necessary to test not only my communicative and entrepreneurial skills but especially to know people that do my same job but in other countries, to be able to do not feel alone in the difficulties of our field.
I can admit that this experience give me the proof that shared cultural ideas, good ones, they can fly far away and meet minds and souls everywhere.
