How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?
I traveled to Beirut in January and February 2019 to participate in Beirut Art Residency program. During my residency, I focused on the concept of the city, everyday life and body. I found Beirut as a multicultural and metropolitan city with varied urban texture and full of memories throughout time. I did some research about Beirut, the history of the city and its process of development and evolution.
How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?
During this project in Beirut, I experienced the new situation in my artistic practice; Using public space as a studio. The fact that helped me to follow my research very practically in the city to study public space, residence, and everyday life very closely.
Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?
Beirut as a multicultural and metropolitan city with varied urban texture and full of memories throughout time was so inspiring and interesting for me. I have the chance to explore the city during every day long walks and document the surface of the city and the interventions of the residence as a detector.
